I read and loved both! You are so good at describing complex relationships between women - like I have with my mother and sisters, so I can really relate. I'd love to hear how Poppy is doing.

Hi Barbara,
I'm happy to say that I've read both. Being disabled myself, Accidental Woman was very inspirational for me & helped to pull me out of a depression. The book really inspired me to go for it! I have to thank you for that. Actually, Accidental Woman was the first book of yours that I read & I really got hooked on your books back then.

I became aware of you through a mail order book club when I purchased "Coast Road" & have read several of your books since then. My favorite is "More Than Friends". I've gotten 6 ladies into your books. My best friend (1 of these ladies) promised me a copy of "Escape", but since I prefer the traditional paperback, I'm waiting for that release to be able to read it, which isn't easy!
Although I do prefer your newer novels, I have read some of the old ones & my goal is to read every book of yours!
Keep writing because you inspire me. I'm on my 5th revision of my first completed manuscript.

My cousin had the scare of her life at an airport...she was traveling with her twins when they were just toddlers and had just followed them through the scanner when she was pulled out of line for a random pat-down. The kids were running ahead as little ones will do, and the agent would NOT let her grab the kids before continuing with the pat-down. They were almost out of her sight, but thankfully a good Samaritan (a mom, of course) got the kids and brought them back to her. Thank God it was someone good that grabbed them and not some pervert!

I can remember when flying was fun and glamorous--I actually looked forward to it. No more--I haven't flown in ages and actually did a train vacation a couple of years ago and loved it.

Ah, I'm with you on the knitting thing. I've only been knitting 'seriously' for about 5 years, but it has to be the most soothing, calming activity. I got through the worst of the earthquakes we've had over the last 18 months, by knitting. So yes, a quickly completed project definitely does it for me! :-D In other news, my copy of "Suddenly" arrived this morning. Having a hard time putting it down!!

Carmen, thanks so much for your note! I was able to translate most of it myself! I agree with so many of your points, especially the happy ending. SO important in our society. BTW, for those of you who don't know French, Carmen's note was more complimentary than I truly deserve. Again, Carmen, my thanks!

My two tricks to keeping socks up, Eileen? (1) Do at least an inch of 1X1 or 2X2 ribbing at the top. This draws in the yarn so that it clings. (2) Don't knit them too tall. At least then there's less to fall. :-)
